Edinburgh based People’s Postcode Lottery has this week moved into its brand new office at the heart of the city, and have a new postcode!

People’s Postcode Lottery, which employs over 80 people, has taken all staff members to a brand new office at 76 George Street. They hope that this will give the External Lottery Manager the opportunity to continue to grow its team numbers, increase its presence in a bustling part of the town and help the company to achieve its ongoing CSR aims.

Jo Bucci, Managing Director, said:- “We are delighted to be based in the city centre. The founders of the Lottery fell in love with Edinburgh and we’re proud of the fact that the company has chosen to remain here. After five years, we’re excited about what the next chapter holds.”

After a 29% increase in sales over the last year and an expanding team, the move marks an exciting time for the Lottery and its expansion. With players supporting four Trusts – People’s Postcode Trust, Postcode Culture Trust, Postcode Green Trust and Postcode Care Trust – they have recently reached the impressive milestone of over £20 million raised for good causes and charities across the country. CHILDREN 1ST, Maggie’s and the National Galleries of Scotland are just some of the charities to have received funding from the players.

Speaking about the move, Anne Houston, CEO of CHILDREN 1ST, said: “It has been a privilege to be part of the People’s Postcode Lottery’s journey. We were with them right at the beginning, when the Lottery launched here in Scotland and we’re thrilled to see the Lottery go from strength to strength. The funding provided by players is a real life-line to the work CHILDREN 1ST does in Scotland every single day.”

As well as enjoying a new central location, staff will have a series of ‘pool bikes’ to cycle around the city. The ten bikes will be based in the basement of the office and will give team members an alternative and healthier way to travel to and from meetings across Edinburgh.

People’s Postcode Lottery was originally launched in 2008 with an office at Great Michael House, Leith. People’s Postcode Lottery is owned by Novamedia, the parent company of five European charity lotteries in Great Britain, Sweden and the Netherlands. Novamedia is chaired by Boudewijn Poelmann (CEO), along with Ruud Esser and Frank Leeman. The new People’s Postcode Lottery office was opened by Chairman Boudewijn Poelmann and Annemiek Hoogenboom, Country Director, together with Jo Bucci, Managing Director.
