Etiket, Edinburgh’s newest Deep House jaunt is launching on Friday 8 June 2012 at the Annexxe (Downstairs Liquid Room, Cowgate entrance).

JACKSONVILLE will lend a hand to help celebrate the commencement of Etiket, Edinburgh’s newest Deep House jaunt at the Annexe.

So what is behind the name? The owners explain:-“Rules of etiket encompass most aspects of social interaction in any society, though the term itself is not commonly used. A rule of etiket may reflect an underlying ethical code, or it may reflect a person’s fashion or status. Rules of etiket are usually unwritten, but aspects of etiket have been codified from time to time.” (We think it is more correctly etiquette, but then we could be wrong…)

The promoters explain that:-“Jacksonville productions are a sophisticated blend of captivating melodies, hypnotic deep baselines and glitchy percussion, which always include that all important killer groove. This means they translate well to the dance-floor where his live sets are the perfect showcase for his unique sound whilst providing an exciting and memorable experience for any crowd.

Jacksonville has a very decent pedigree having also worked with labels such as Plastic City, Shanti, Thug Records and Gorge’s imprint Katchuli as well as owning and running his own label Doppler Records.”

Here is a sample of Jacksonville’s music:-

Supporting artists include Etiket Residents Chris Graham (also resident of Souloco one of Edinburgh best-well established underground house nights,) Laurence Nolan Etiket head-honcho and We Own resident Dan Rane. Also supporting are two of Edinburgh’s hottest up-and-coming DJs Fraser Henderson and Jack Stanley.
