John Young is standing as an SNP candidate for Inverleith Ward.
Young was brought up in Leith and attended Broughton High School. He has worked mainly in education, both in local secondary schools and as a language consultant with a multinational engineering company. He has been involved in educational research and has run an Edinburgh-based summer school. He currently works in adult education and is a member of Craigleith Blackhall Community Council.
