There is a public meeting at Leith Town Hall tonight about the re-development of the site at 30 Fort Street/Graham Street from 6-9pm.   The public meeting will then continue on Saturday 15 October 2011 from 10-1.00pm.

This site was brought to the attention of the council’s Development Management Sub-Committee on 14 September 2011, to highlight a forthcoming planning application for a mixed use development.  The proposal is to build between 220-240 flats on the site, and so if you have any concerns you should try to get along to the meeting to find out more.

The site is just over 1 ha and is currently populated by a variety of industrial buildings. To the north of the site is the Ferry Road Cycleway.

It is planned to take access to the site by way of two streets: South Fort Street and Graham Street and pedestrian/cycle links will be taken through the site to the cycle path.

This is part of the planning process and any results from the public meetings will have to be advised to the planning department along with any detailed planning application.
