As London Fashion Week fast becomes a distant memory, allow the beckoning call of Ooh Fashion to tickle your fashionista taste buds, as they prepare for their very own two day style extravaganza, on the 18-22 October 2011.

Following on from the huge success of their Spring/Summer Event, Ooh Fashion’s creative director, Gary Anderson, is planning what promises to be an even ‘bigger and better’ occasion than the last, this time hosted at Edinburgh’s Green Room on Picardy Place.

Gary has made it no secret that in time, he hopes to see an ‘Edinburgh Fashion Week’. And he can rest assured that he is taking a step in the right direction, as this season he has increased the offering  by an extra day, offering the exciting opportunity of attending ‘A Fair of Fashion’ on Saturday 22 October 2011, following the fashion show on Tuesday 18 October.

Whilst admitting that the workload seems to be steadily piling up on him as the date looms nearer and nearer, Gary admits that the pay-off makes it all worthwhile – “Our Fall/Winter season is a two day event so there is a lot more to organise. I’m always really busy, but I love what I do. What makes all the hard work even more rewarding is that it supports the Sick Kids Friends Foundation Charity.”

As he says, Gary and the team have once again decided to partner up with the very worthy charity that supports the work done at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. And so not only is this an event where you can enjoy the craftsmanship and talent of Scottish designers, you can rest assured in the knowledge that behind all the glamour and fizz, it is supporting a very worthwhile cause.

The ‘Fair of Fashion’ promises to be a delightful ending to the two day celebration of unique boutiques and creative talents from Scotland which are on show here. It also provides an opportunity for those attending to take advantage of exclusive discounts and make-overs by hairdressers and make-up artists. It is a chance to get up close and personal with the designs being showcased on the 18th, and with money off! It is simply an event not to be missed. And with the beautiful stylings of Tea at Aunties, Psycho Moda and Nutmeg Couture alongside many more, it would be a crime against fashion not too attend.

However if this hasn’t convinced you, allow Gary to tease you in… “We are so excited about the upcoming season’s events. We had such a fantastic response to our Spring/Summer fashion show, so we have been working hard to make this season bigger and better. It is an absolute must see for fashion followers. We have a variety of established boutiques involved, alongside many new creative talents.”

Both events take place at the Green Room, 12 Picardy Place EH1 3JT. Doors for the fashion show open at 7pm, with the show strutting off at 8pm. Tickets for Students are priced £8, and for Adults £10. Tickets are available to pre-order by emailing Gary at garyoohfashion@gmail.com or alternatively you can purchase at the door on the night. ‘A Fair of Fashion’ is open to the public from 11am – 5pm and admittance is free.

  1. Had a great time last night at The Green Room. A very well organised event. It could have been a bit shorter as people were starting to get tired by the end, although the designs were great. I particularly loved Nicci.n Scotland
