A Domino’s Pizza store in Edinburgh has shown its support for its local Youth Centre in Granton by launching a new pizza aiming to raise funds to improve the centre’s kids’ programme and activities for the year ahead.

The initiative was mutually originated and developed by Crewe Toll branch manager Adam Hulley and Granton Youth Centre programme co-ordinator Paul Carnie.  The pizza is called the Granton Youth Centre pizza and is a large stuffed crust pizza topped with 100% mozzarella cheese, delicious pepperoni, onions and spicy jalapeños for an extra kick! The pizza will be exclusively available in the Domino’s Crewe Toll store in Edinburgh. It will be available to order for a limited time only and £1 from every pizza sold will be donated to Granton Youth Centre.

Granton Youth Centre is a purpose built Youth Centre for 11-25 year olds located on West Granton Road. The centre provides community based support for young people in Edinburgh.  In addition to a full activity programme for young people, the centre uses group work to explore relevant issues such as drugs and alcohol, self-esteem, sexual health, bullying, community safety and a range of other issues identified by young people that concern them.

Programme co-ordinator Paul Carnie has attended the Granton Youth Centre since he was a child so has a first hand experience of how cuts in funding have affected the centre and activities on offer, and how this partnership with Domino’s could help.  Paul said:  “It’s great to see Domino’s reaching out and supporting a local community group such as ourselves.   We’re aiming to raise £3,600 this year and if we reach our target we will have an array of opportunities to offer the children at the centre next year!”

Domino’s store manager Adam Hulley is so passionate about helping the centre that he has also pledged to do a 5k run on 23 October, along with a variety of other fundraising activities to raise as much money as possible for  the centre.

Adam, store manager of Domino’s Pizza Crewe Toll in Edinburgh, said:  “We’re delighted to support our local kids in the community. We want to raise as much money as we can to ensure the Granton Youth Centre can continue their good work and the kids have a great programme of activities and events next year!”

The pizza will be available to order from Domino’s Crewe Toll store at 677 Ferry Road EH4 2TX 0131 332 6677
