Tonight, Okavango Macbeth is being performed by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, at The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh.
It is the classic tale of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, told in a not-so-classic way through baboons in Botswana.
The opera was written and composed by Alexander McCall Smith and Tom Cunningham, and deals with the efforts of an ambitious female baboon – Lady Macbeth – to encourage her husband – Macbeth – to kill the dominant baboon – Duncan.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets cost £16 – contact 0131 668 2019 for more details.
