Edinburgh Trams have issued an update reminding us of the reasoning behind having trams in the first place. This is all good sustainable transport messaging, except that they also urge us to read ‘Tram Facts’ a leaflet which they have produced, and which you can view online, and which says quite clearly that the trams will run from the airport to Newhaven.

So are we to take from this that the mediation has gone so successfully that tie can now afford the whole tram project? Or is it still the case that the trams might be rolled out incrementally, and might never get to Newhaven at all? Certainly the First Minister, Alex Salmond, does not seem to think that anything will come of the tram project according to The Scotsman last week.
