Around twenty firefighters battled to extinguish a fire at a sports pavilion at Broomhouse Road in the Sighthill area of Edinburgh in the early hours of this morning.

The fire was reported around 3am. It appears it started at the wall of the building, which is used as a changing room for the nearby Sighthill public park. It quickly spread into the building and roof.

Crews using breathing apparatus eventually extinguished the blaze at around 5.30am.

The entire building was severely damaged by fire and fire investigation officers are carrying out investigations to establish the cause.
