Original member of The Drifters, Roy G Hemmings is coming to the capital with the multi-award winning show, Motown on Tour.
The performance is a celebration of 50 years of Motown and features hits by The Supremes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye and many more.
Audiences can expect classic hits such as ‘Baby Love’, ‘Dancing In The Street’ and ‘My Girl’.
Front man Roy G Hemmings has been the longest serving member of The Drifters and has appeared at prestigious venues around the world, including a memorable performance at the White House for the then president Bill Clinton.
Under the musical direction of acclaimed arranger and saxophonist Anna Brooks, the seven-piece Dictionary of Soul mainstay backing band comprises some of Britain’s finest musicians and provides the accompaniment for this 100 per cent live show.
The performance takes place at the Playhouse on October 1.
