The strange tale of the young man found lying in a New Town street continues. He is in Edinburgh’s Royal Infirmary suffering from a head injury, but thankfully his family have now been traced. The Daily Record explains that he still does not know how he got there. He was identified from his dragon tattoo after a police appeal according to BBC online.

Kenny McAskill continues to reject any invitation from the US senate to go to Washington this week, according to the BBC.

Again from the sparkly new BBC online website news that the knife apparently belonging to Luke Mitchell who was convicted in 2005 for the murder of Jodi Jones, has been found about half a mile from the murder site. Mitchell has appealed against sentence and conviction unsuccessfully and is to spend at least 20 years in prison.

The Herald asks if the Edinburgh Festival in all its guises will survive the government austerity measures.

Greener Leith highlights that the Allotments Strategy is being finalised for approval by the Council this week, and it seems that there will not be any new allotments at Pilrig Park. Whether there will be any new allotments to alleviate the long waiting list is not made clear. We highlighted the draft strategy some time ago.
