Marie-Clair Munro, Scottish Conservative Councillor for Morningside, visited the Blaze base at Crags Leisure Centre to present club officials with a framed copy of a congratulatory motion on behalf of City of Edinburgh Council.

In an e-mail to Richard Knight, Chief Executive of Charity, We Play Together, Cllr Munro said: “As this team represents an important part of our local sporting community, I was very pleased to support this initiative. The motion received cross-party support at Council, reflecting the widespread admiration for this fantastic achievement.”

During a visit to the Crags Councillor Munro met with Richard Knight, Bart Sengers (under-18 women’s Head Coach) and Ally Reid, chair of the Blaze charitable wing.

She had a quick guided tour of the Centre, and learned a little more about Boroughmuir Blaze, We Play Together, and basketball in Edinburgh.

She also took the opportunity to shoot some baskets under the expert coaching eye of Bart Sengers!
