Records were shattered at Stewart’s Melville cricket club where home batters Lucy Pillinger (164n/o) and Izzy Armstrong (113n/o) compiled a 307 run partnership in a Scottish women’s premiership encounter with Murrayfield DAFS.
Stewart’s Melville went on to win by 230 runs – their second consecutive victory of the new premiership campaign.
It was the highest second wicket partnership in club history – men or women – and statistician Alan Veitch estimates it is the first time individual totals of 150 and 100 have been compiled in the same innings.
Also, Lucy Pillinger’s knock represented the sixth highest individual score ever in club colours.
