All five films in The Hunger Games franchise return to Vue Edinburgh this weekend, ahead of the release of the latest instalment in the series, Sunrise on the Reaping.
The re-release gives fans the chance to revisit the dystopian world of Panem on the big screen, from Katniss Everdeen volunteering as tribute to the climactic battle that follows. The original trilogy introduced cinemagoers to Panem and its annual Hunger Games, in which young tributes are forced to compete to the death in a televised spectacle.
The first film, starring Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson and Donald Sutherland, begins screening at Vue Edinburgh from 4 September.
The screenings coincide with National Cinema Weekend, and to mark the occasion Vue is offering £4 tickets across all films and seats on 5 and 6 September, including The Hunger Games. The season will run for five weeks in total, concluding with The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes from 2 October.
Edinburgh audiences will also be able to take in the films from Vue’s Ultra Lux seats, the cinema chain’s largest and most comfortable option. Positioned for the best possible view of the screen, Ultra Lux seating comes with an extra-wide armrest, a personal table for snacks and drinks, and a wine cooler, offering what Vue describes as the most luxurious way to immerse yourself in the story.
