Currie Chieftains are sticking with the same co-captaincy arrangement which carried them to second place in the Scottish rugby premiership behind Ayr last season.
That means responsibility continues to be invested in scrum half Gregor Christie, a Scottish clubs’ internationalist who played some of his earlier career in Pukekohe, New Zealand, along with forward Rhys Davies who came up through the Malleny Park ranks and played his 150th game for the club last season.
Among the new faces at Malleny this season are Mason Cullen, a product of the Scottish youth system but latterly displaying his outside back talents with English Championship side Ampthill.
Also Jack Fisher has joined from Selkirk. The powerfully built second row was noted during the now defunct FOSROC Super Six series leading the competition with 11 league turnovers from eight games for Boroughmuir Bears.
