Bavarian-inspired feasting, steins of Munich’s big six and live brass bands are taking over Scotland’s only Beer Palace later this month.

Dust off your lederhosen, gather your friends and get ready to raise a stein, as Oktoberfest returns to Brewhemia on Market Street.

Brewhemia’s Beer Palace will be transformed into a celebration of all things Bavarian, bringing the food, drinks and raucous atmosphere of Germany’s biggest beer festival to the heart of Edinburgh.

Whether you’re planning a group celebration, looking for a unique night out in Edinburgh, or want to sample German beer in a vessel that’s bigger than your head, Brewhemia’s Oktoberfest is bringing three weeks of Bavarian-inspired debauchery to the capital.

Steins, schnitzels and serious feasting

No Oktoberfest would be complete without beer and food, and Brewhemia is going all in.

Guests can expect steins of beer, Bavarian-inspired dishes and hearty plates made for sharing, with plenty on the menu to keep hungry festival-goers fueled throughout the celebrations.

From golden, crispy schnitzels to indulgent German-inspired favourites including authentic Wursts and giant pretzels. The food is designed for proper feasting, because a little bit of drinking is always better when there’s something hearty to soak it up with.

Brass and Live Entertainment

Then there’s the entertainment.

Throughout the festival, the Beer Palace will be bringing the noise with an exclusive line-up of touring brass bands, specially selected to take over the venue with big tunes and a serious dose of Bavarian spirit, giving guests the perfect soundtrack to their steins and schnitzels.

Making their Beer Palace debut this year, Flat Cap Brass are kicking off the celebrations on 19 September, bringing their explosive live show to Brewhemia for the first time.

They’ll be joined throughout the festival by Edinburgh’s own The Brass Rats on 25 September and 2 October, as well as Atomic Brass on 26 September and Loud Noises Brass are closing the festival on 3 October.

Guests can expect a high-energy live soundtrack as some of the UK’s most exciting brass acts turn the Beer Palace into Edinburgh’s ultimate Oktoberfest experience – bringing a taste of Munich to the city.

The entertainment doesn’t end with the music. Brewhemia’s in-house entertainment team will be bringing their own brand of immersive live entertainment to the festival, with performers getting stuck into the celebrations and plenty of opportunities to get involved. Expect Schnapps skis, beer and wurst sampling and a few Oktoberfest goodies up for grabs along the way.

Brewhemia’s Oktoberfest runs from 19 September to 4 October, giving Edinburgh plenty of opportunity to get involved.
