The Norse gods descended on Edinburgh as the cast of Mythos: Ragnarök unleashed epic wrestling poses, battle-ready stances and larger-than-life characters upon Cockburn Street’s mighty stairway.
Following four sell-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe and critically acclaimed performances around the globe, Mythos: Ragnarök is returning for its biggest and boldest performance yet. The only show of its kind in the world, this genre-defying experience fuses high-energy comic theatre with Norse mythology and professional wrestling to create an iconic adrenaline-fueled spectacle. Physicality takes on new proportions as ancient prophecy collides with the excitement of live combat.

Seamlessly blending the comedy and gravitas of Shakespearean theatre with the palpable excitement of live wrestling, this year’s show will be accompanied by a brand-new hard-hitting Viking rock soundtrack from legendary Nordic composer Kjell Braaten, which will transport audiences to mythical Asgard. Created in 2021 with the aim of uniting theatre and wrestling in a completely original way, Mythos: Ragnarök has grown into an international phenomenon enjoyed by audiences of all ages and reshaping perceptions of wrestling as a performance art.
Creator and lead actor of Mythos: Ragnarök, Ed Gamester, comments Over five years of crippling effort, our little show has grown from an audience of one to being one of the biggest-selling acts of the festival. For that, we have the audiences of the Fringe to thank – and it is our honour to come back this year with the best version of our show to date, in what is probably the best venue in the city. There’s a lot of hype about our show this year and rightfully so: we couldn’t be more ready to exceed all expectations.
