Adam Flood: Life and Death of the Party
Wednesday’s late-night comedy pick comes with a beat.
Adam Flood mixes stand-up with rave music in a show about hedonism, clubbing and the strange moment when all your friends start becoming stay-at-home adults. The comedian, who has appeared on BBC and ITV, brings high-energy routines about nightlife, marriage and the occasional existential crisis to Monkey Barrel.
It is a very good alternative to a standard comedy hour—and the one to choose if you want the night to feel more like a party than a polite sit-down show.

The Most Toast
In any room, somebody has eaten the most toast. Comedian Ollie Horn is determined to find them.
That is the wonderfully daft premise behind The Most Toast, an offbeat afternoon show which turns a seemingly unanswerable question into a live investigation. Horn is joined by Bella Hull for a show that is likely to appeal to anyone who likes their Fringe comedy eccentric, playful and a little bit competitive.

Book of Shadows
For something visually unlike a conventional comedy hour, Japanese shadow-puppet company Book of Shadowz bring a supernatural mystery to Underbelly Cowgate.
Teenage sceptic Vi is sent to live with her grandmother, who claims to be the 200-year-old mystic Madam Blavatsky. When Vi’s friends begin to disappear, the pair are drawn into a conspiracy involving séances, cultists and suspicious government agents.
The dark comedy uses colourful handmade puppets and live shadow animation—a properly distinctive choice for a Wednesday evening.
