Partick Thistle took the bonus point after fighting back from a goal down to earn a 1–1 draw against Livingston in the Premier Sports League Cup and then win the shootout.

The first clear opportunity fell to Livingston’s Cristian Montaño but his shot was blocked and Stevie May came close just before half-time from the edge of the box.

The home side nearly broke the deadlock early in the second half when a Jordan Docherty cross found Sam Culbert but his shot skimmed the post.

Montaño was one-on-one with the Thistle goalkeeper, but failed to make enough contact, and Livingston eventually took the lead after 60 minutes.

Tyrese Sinclair found Muirhead on the edge of the box and his strike flew into the top-right corner.

The clocked ticked on and in 80 minutes Smyth tried his luck from the edge of the area. Jérôme Prior could only parry the effort into the path of Samuel who levelled.

The clash finally went to a penalty shoot-out and Partick their nerve to secure a 3–2 victory.
