Glasgow Tigers go into Friday’s Cab Direct Championship clash with Edinburgh Monarchs minus their No 1, Kyle Howarth.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers have confirmed that he is taking a break from the sport and Glasgow’s team manager, Cami Brown, has drafted in Jonas Jeppesen to cover for Howarth.
He said: “Losing Kyle has been a massive blow. He’s a huge part of the team with his points and personality in the pits.”
Tigers are trying to find a replacement and Brown said: “We have an excellent guest in Jonas Jeppesen. His last three visits have been scores of 11, nine and paid 15 and we need him to hit double figures again to cover properly for Kyle.”
Edinburgh have already won at Ashfield twice this season and Brown said: “It feels like we have our backs-to-the-wall. They boys will really need to dig deep and get the win.”
He added: “This is our most important meeting of the season so far.”
