People living in a care home in Barnton will be entertained with the annual Edinburgh Fringe Cares Fest returning for its fifth year.
Performers will entertain residents and staff at Queens Manor care home in Barnton, where the festival first began.
The home provides residential and dementia care for 60 residents from respite breaks to long term stays.
Starting at 2pm on the afternoon of 1 August, it will include contemporary performances from across the world.
Taking to the stage at 3pm will be Hong Kong’s Lai Yee, an acrobat and contemporary street performer who specialises in flow arts which include juggling, Cyr wheel and light dancing.
At 4pm, organisers have announced that vocalist Anna Vanosi will showcase her work across jazz, contemporary and s”torytelling-led live performance.”
Ranging from intimate jazz sets to theatrical interpretations of songs, Vanossi is said to be “always focused on character, rhythm, and emotional connection.”
The group will also perform in other care homes in the city.
General manager, Margaret-Ann Davidson, said, “The Fringe Cares Fest started right here in Queens Manor five years ago and it is wonderful to watch it grow from strength to strength every year, I think there are performances in 20 Edinburgh care homes this year.
“We hope that everyone will come and join us to enjoy the performances, it will be a fantastic event and everyone is welcome.”
The performances are free of charge and open to the local community, with staff at Queens Manor stating that friends and neighbours are welcome to the event along with the residents and their loved ones.
