Tim Smolders and Céderique Tulleners have joined Wouter Vrancken’s coaching team at Tynecastle, subject to visa approval.
Belgian-born Smolders featured for Club Brugge, Gent and Cercle Brugge in his playing days, before starting his coaching journey as assistant manager with Brugge.
The 45-year-old has also spent time with the Belgian under-19 set-up, Club Brugge and Union Saint-Gilloise in a coaching capacity, before making the move to Germany to take up the role as assistant manager at FC Schalke, reuniting with Karel Geraerts in the process.
The duo moved to France last summer, joining Stade Reims where they narrowly missed out on the play-offs and a chance of promotion to Ligue 1.
Tulleners joins the Jambos having most recently been in charge of Jong Cercle Brugge in Belgium, having previously spent time with the Lithuania under-19 and under-21 squads.
The 35-year-old has also coached in China and Saudi Arabia and now makes the move to Edinburgh as Vrancken finalises his backroom staff ahead of the new campaign.
The trio will be in Spain this week with the squad for seven days of warm-weather training ahead of the pre-season friendly against Spanish-based, La Liga side, Rayo Vallecano at Tynecastle Park on Friday, July 17 (19.45) and Champions League qualifier in Austria v Sturm Graz on July 21.
