A new cohort of 71 officers are getting ready to report for duty across Scotland’s communities following the successful conclusion of their first stage of training.
The group marked the occasion in front of Deputy Chief Constable Bex Smith, Assistant Chief Constable Tim Mairs, senior officers, family and loved ones during a formal ceremony at Police Scotland headquarters, Tulliallan, today, Friday, 26 June 2026.
The officers will now deploy to local policing divisions in the coming days to continue their two-year probationer training.
DCC Smith thanked and congratulated the officers during what is a significant milestone in their careers.
Eight of them have previous military experience, two were former special constables and 10 speak additional languages including Nepalese, Lithuanian and Polish.
Police Scotland is recruiting officers and has multiple events lined up for potential candidates plus a dedicated recruitment hub on its website with direct access to apply.
