City welcomes new care-at-home service

Edinburgh is home to a new care-at-home service which comes at a time of “clear and growing need” in the health and social care sector.

The service will be Caremark’s first Scottish franchise, and will provide personalised care for adults who need support to continue living safely and independently in their own homes.

The service was launched at an opening event by Daniel Johnson, MSP for Edinburgh Southern, on Wednesday 27 May, where he highlighted the growing need for person-centred care that enables people to remain independent in their own homes.

Caremark’s service will support both private customers and NHS referrals, including work with hospital discharge teams and local healthcare partners.

The team will provide care across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas, offering a range of services including elderly care, respite care, hospital discharge support, long-term care packages, Alzheimer’s and dementia care, arthritis care, companionship, diabetes care, hypertension support, live-in care, overnight care and end-of-life care.

The team will also support those living with neurological conditions such as motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and Huntingdon’s disease.

Caremark Edinburgh is led by Natasha Bij, company owner and director and Nitin Mahajan, managing director, who are now recruiting care assistants to support customers across the city and surrounding areas.

As part of the launch, the new branch is creating multiple jobs.

“Our focus is on building a team of care assistants who are compassionate, reliable and genuinely committed to helping people live safely and independently at home.

“All members of our team will receive full training, including mandatory and specialist training where needed, so we can provide the highest standard of care to every customer.”
