The charity shop at 87 Leith Walk is only the tip of the iceberg for the social enterprise which was set up in 2010 to provide training opportunities for people with learning disabilities.
On Friday and Saturday there will be celebrations at the shop which sells all kinds of preloved good – but is particularly strong on vinyl and more donations are always needed.
The training element of the organisation helps to build self-confidence and skills and help people to find jobs in retail or another customer facing career, and the shop raises much needed funds. It was the first of its kind in Scotland and All Together Edinburgh is proud of its graduate scheme.
Debbie Douglas, CEO of All Together Edinburgh, said they have invited all former graduates and any supporters along. She said: “All have been a huge part of the All Together Edinburgh story and success and we really appreciate everything they have done for us.
“We look forward to finding out how people are getting on, share stories, take some photos and mark the occasion with a few drinks and nibbles. If people have any photos please bring them along. If not, just bring yourself and your memories along.”
Around 50 graduates recently attended a ceremony in Norton Park.
The last important anniversary fell during Covid when the celebration involved just one member of the staff and one balloon. This time the team are pushing the boat out with food and drink from nearby businesses.
Cllr Susan Rae said: “I’m delighted to join All Together Edinburgh, their staff and amazing volunteers, to help celebrate 15 years of the most successful, trail-blazing, innovative and joyous social enterprises in Leith.
“Their annual Trainee Graduation is one of the highlights of my year, and it’s a pleasure and an honour to work with this award-winning group who constantly strive to find yet more ways to support our community. Recently short-listed by Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce for Leith Business of the Year 2026, I look forwardto watching ATE grow, thrive and lead the way for years to come.”
