The votes are cast and now the counting begins.
The Chief Executive of The City of Edinburgh Council, Paul Lawrence, is the city’s Returning Officer and he is responsible for the smooth running of the election council which will be held at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston.
In a departure from pre-Covid times, the election count is being conducted during the day and will begin at 9am.
