Martin Boyle picked up a Special Recognition Award winner after another record-breaking season with Hibs.
A modern-day, legend, Boyle was rewarded for his contribution, commitment and years of dedication, as the Socceroo reached the 400 appearance mark for the Club and became Hibs all-time European top goalscorer with nine goals in 2025/26.
Boyle also finished the season as the Club’s top scorer in all competitions with 11 goals, and he reflected on a very special moment for his family.
“It’s amazing,” Boyle said to Hibs TV.
“Obviously I’m very surprised, and it came as a bit of a shock.
“I think hearing the names that have been given this award before makes it extra special, as they’re proper legends of this Club, and I’m absolutely delighted.
“Hopefully I can keep going and producing on the pitch. I’m a bit lost for words, and I’m still a bit shaken by it, so it’s a great feeling for me and my family, and obviously my wife Rachael, seeing it, is unbelievable.
“It’s been a bit of a whirlwind season, and I think as players we know we have to take responsibility in certain situations, and we know we have to be better.
“We know that there’ll be players leaving this summer and players coming in, so that’s up to us, and we have a big leadership group at the moment between me, Joe [Newell], Chris [Cadden], Grant [Hanley] and Warren [O’Hora], so we’ll look to do that, and we’ll look to go again in pre-season.
“We’ll work as hard as we can, and hopefully we can still get that European competition that we wanted at the start of the season, and hopefully we can give back to the fans.”
Boyle signed a new one-year deal with the Club last week, and says the love from Head Coach David Gray helped convince him that his future lay at Easter Road.
He added: “I’ll not go into the details of how it did happen last minute, but thank you for the board and the manager, as, ultimately, that was what it came down to.
“The trust that I have in the manager is probably the main reason why I stayed and family reasons as well, but I love the place, and there’s no better place I’d rather be.
“I’ve been knackered, but I’ll enjoy tonight and I’ll certainly look back and enjoy the memories I’ve had here.
“Becoming the all-time highest goal scorer in Europe is amazing considering some of the names that are in there, and ultimately I want to get in the top ten of the goal-scoring charts as well.
“It’s little goals that I like to look forward to, but it’s not just about me.
“It’s just key goals that I can try to get to, but if I’m doing well, then I’m helping the team, and ultimately that’s what it’s all about.”
