Broomieknowe golfer Kai Laing is the 2026 winner of the Craigmillar Park Open tournament following in the footsteps of Sir Nick Faldo. pictured, who, also as a teenager, won the event exactly 50 years ago before immediately turning pro.

The four round competition, sponsored by Stewart Brewing, saw Kai post scores of 69, 77, 67 and 67 to finish on level par and one shot ahead of defending champion Jamie Duguid (Dunbar).

Kai is one of an emerging group of young Scottish golfers with a CV which includes finishing runner up in last year’s Scottish Boys Championship.
