Hibs midfielder Jamie McGrath thanked fans and teammates after picking up both Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year for 2025/26.
The 29-year-old Irishman contributed nine goals and four assists in his debut campaign as a Hibs player.
His Player of the Year award was decided by our supporters in an online poll, which McGrath – a clear fans’ favourite at Easter Road since his move from Aberdeen in the summer of 2025 – topped ahead of the likes of Raphael Sallinger, Warren O’Hora and Felix Passlack.
McGrath also topped a confidential ballot at HTC, held by the current first-team squad, and it was a moment that left the no 17 immensely proud.
There are obviously a lot of emotions going through me right now,” McGrath told Hibs TV.
“To win Players’ Player of the Year means so much because I train with the boys every day and I love every one of them. For them to vote me as Players’ Player of the Year is really special.
“Obviously, to win Men’s Player of the Year as well, coming in last year as a new player, I just wanted to try and break into the team. To come away with two awards is something I couldn’t even dream of. I want to thank everybody for it.
“It was actually emotional because I see all the boys every day, and you never really get that praise. So for all the boys to say such nice things was emotional.
“It was something my family and I would never have imagined when I came in last year as a new player into such a winning changing room. My immediate goal was just to nail down a place in the team, so to come away with these two awards is a huge thing for me.
“It means everything to me and my family, and I won’t stop smiling for a while. Honestly, I can’t thank everybody enough. It is one of the highlights of my career so far to get these awards, so I am extremely thankful.”
