Edinburgh tennis professional Scott Duncan is in Sarasota, Florida, this week aiming to follow up a doubles success in Heraklion, Greece, last week.
But while Scott, world No 167 doubles player, partnered Glasgow’s Hamish Stewart last time out a change of circumstances has meant teaming up with Brazilian Daniel Dutra Da Silva (world No 228) for the US Challenger event.
Scott said: “Hamish was committed to staying on in Greece for one more week then going to Abidjan, Ivory Coast, for another couple of Challengers whereas my schedule meant going to Florida.
“Hamish and I had been talking about playing together for some time but then he broke a rib at the end of last year which de-railed things a bit.
“Hopefully there will be other opportunities to team up.”
To win in Heraklion the Scots due had to overcome sand storms in their opening match before justifying top seeding.
Adds Scott: “This is a bit of a change-over period on tour with a switch to clay courts (from hard).
“The aim is to try to gain as many ranking points as possible to earn tournament entries when the switch comes to grass.”
