An investigation is underway after a collision involving a cyclist and the rider of an off-road motorbike that took place on Crighton Place on Leith Walk around 5.40pm yesterday afternoon. (Wednesday 8 April 2026)

Emergency services were alerted to the crash however the rider of the motorbike had left the scene prior to the arrival of the police.

Officers later confirmed that the cyclist was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.40pm, police received a report of a crash involving an off-road motorcycle and a pedal cycle in Crighton Place, Edinburgh.

“The cyclist was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel. The rider of the motorcycle made off.

“Enquiries are ongoing to locate them and establish the full circumstances of the incident.”
