Don Robertson the referee who sent off two Hibs players in Sunday’s Edinburgh derby will be monitoring the Hibs v Celtic game this weekend on VAR from Clydesdale House with the support of Duncan Nicholson.
Robertson sent off Raphael Sallinger for denying a goalscoring opportunity by handling the ball outside the area after 15-minutes.
That decision along with several others that were perceived to have gone in favour of the visitors say him booed off the park at half time.
Shortly after the restart he showed Felix Passlack a second yellow card, reducing Hibs to nine men and despite some heroic defending, David Gray’s men succumbed to a 2-1 defeat.
The referee for the game will be David Dickinson who sent Grant Hanley off at Pittodrie in the final game before the split.
Calum Spence and Douglas Ross will be his assistants on the sidelines.
Dickinson has been the man in the middle for six Hibs matches, including their clashes with Dundee, Hearts, St Mirren, Kilmarnock, Motherwell, and Aberdeen.
He has refereed two of Celtic’s games – their 3-1 home victory over Aberdeen last December, as well as their 2-0 defeat of Falkirk at Celtic Park.
