Head of Ticketing and Revenue at Edinburgh’s Capital Theatres, Jimmy Beacham, won the Unsung Hero Award at the Ticketing Business Awards in Manchester on Tuesday night.
The Head of Ticketing and Revenue has worked at the Festival Theatre for 31 years, beginning as a Box Office Assistant. Over more than three decades, he has built an exceptional career grounded in dedication, expertise and a genuine love of theatre.
Now he leads a team of 15 people at Capital Theatres’ three venues – Festival Theatre, Studio Theatre and King’s Theatre, which will reopen this year after a major redevelopment.
His experience spans thousands of performances including drama, major West End musicals such as Hamilton and Mary Poppins with accompanying massive on-sales, world-class dance, opera and comedy, alongside an extensive Studio Theatre programme and 32 pantomimes. This breadth underpins his deep understanding of audiences and the organisation.
He said: “I am absolutely delighted and honoured to win the Unsung Hero Award at The Ticketing Business Awards, alongside so many brilliant contenders. I have worked at Capital Theatres for 31 years and still love my job to this day. To work in such a creative and stimulating environment, on such a variety of world-class productions and with fantastic colleagues is a real pleasure.”
