Stephen Kingsley admitted that his emotions, and those of the rest of the squad, were raw after Hearts draw 2-2 at Livingston despite coming from behind to hold a 2-1 lead.
The experienced defender, who has returned to first team duty after a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury, said the squad were particularly disappointed to let slip the second goal at The Home of the Set Fare Arena.
Kingsley argued that the two goals the Jambos lost were “poor” and He added: “We have built a really good reputation for ourselves in being defensively solid and we concede two poor goals and that is a frustration.”
He added: “Being positive is hard to do as it is so raw, but we will look at the positives we did do (at Livingston). But you just can’t give away goals as we did. That’s shooting ourselves in the foot.”
Kingsley was asked if Hearts’ away form was becoming a concern but he dismissed that and said: ”There were some good moments in there and there were mistakes we need to sort out, but we have shown great form all season.
“A draw (at Livingston) is disappointing, but we know the situation we are in, we are top of the league still but we need to go into next week full of confidence. There are six games left now.”
That next game is at Tynecastle against Motherwell on Saturday at 15.00 and the Fir Park side are in fourth position in the 12-strong table with 54 points from 32 starts but go into the fixture on a downer having lost 3-2 at home to Falkirk last Saturday.
Hearts, incidentally, have 67 from the same number of games.
