Talk show host Graham Norton and actress Maria McErlane will bring their podcast to this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Gilded Balloon has announced that the comedy pair will host a live version of their podcast, Wanging On, for the first time this August.
The show, Wanging On LIVE, will take place in the King’s Theatre in Bruntsfield, which will reopen for the festival after being closed in August 2022 for major refurbishment.
Hosted weekly by Norton and McErlane since July 2025 and produced by Platform Media, the podcast sees the pair “dish out average advice” to listeners and share their “so-so solutions to your everyday dilemmas.”
The comedy duo have performed together for more than 30 years, beginning with Carnal Knowledge in the 1990s and most famously the “Grill Graham” section of Norton’s Saturday morning show on BBC Radio 2 and later Virgin Radio UK.
Both Norton and McErlane are longtime contributors to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, with Norton being announced as a Fringe ambassador in October 2025.
Known for his popular BBC1 chat show, and as the UK’s host for Eurovision, Graham’s entertainment career dates back to 1991 when he was refining his craft as a standup comedian at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, performing ‘Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s Grand Farewell Tour’ in the Pleasance Attic, a newly opened 60-seat venue at the Pleasance. In the years following he made the move to mainstream television (as priest Father Noel in Father Ted) while still making frequent appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe, culminating in him being shortlisted for the prestigious Perrier Award in 1997.
Graham and Maria said: “We can’t wait to take the podcast from studio to stage at the Edinburgh Fringe, armed with decades of friendship, sharp observations, and absolutely no expertise.
“Expect audience dilemmas, questionable judgement in Am I Weird?, and the Wangers in the room… so anything could happen.”
