Officers from Police Scotland were involved in a off road bike and e-bike initiative yesterday, Wednesday 25th March 2026, to tackle the anti-social use of these vehicles in communities within the area of Livingston.
A 16-year-old was stopped after riding a unregistered motorbike on a pedestrian footpath and woodland in Deer Park area of Livingston.
The unregistered off-road bike was seized, and the person was charged and will be reporter to the Procurator Fiscal.
A spokesperson said: “Police Scotland would like to remind members of the public that the riding of unregistered bikes, e-bikes on paths and roads placing other pedestrians and road users at risk will not be tolerated.
“These vehicles are genuinely not insured and riders will take risks while riding these bikes illegally in the communities’ placing members of the public in danger.
