Roads Policing Teams, teamed up with DVSA officers this week to conduct a road check, on the A1, near to Dunglass.
During the check, two drivers were found to have contravened legislation, governing how long larger vehicles, can be driven, before drivers are required to taking a break and 11 vehicles, found with dangerous defects, were prohibited from use on our roads.
One was found to be carrying a load, which was 50% heavier, than the vehicle was legally permitted to carry.
A police spokesperson said: “Making our road network safer is a priority for Police Scotland. We will continue to work with partner, to carry out these checks.”
Elsewhere Duns Roads Policing Officers, stopped and removed two uninsured vehicles, from the road network on both the A1 and Edinburgh City Bypass.
Both parties accepted conditional offers, 6 points and a £300 fine.
