An investigation is ongoing following the death of a man in East Lothian.
Officers were called to a property in Carlyle Gardens in Haddington around 12.40pm on Tuesday, 10 February, 2026.
Emergency services attended and a 54-year-old man was taken to hospital.
A 41-year-old man was arrested on the same day, Tuesday, 10 February, in connection and released pending further enquiry.
The man died in hospital on Wednesday, 18 February, 2026. His family is aware.
The man’s family have requested that their privacy be respected at this time.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Inspector Ross Duthie, of the Major Investigation Team, said: “My thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.
“We have a dedicated team of officers carrying out extensive enquiries and a police presence remains in Haddington as part of this.
“Anyone with any information or concerns can speak to these officers. We would particularly appeal to anyone who saw a white Mercedes GLA 200 in the area around the time to come forward.”
