A woman was taken to hospital after being struck by a car which was being driven on Brougham Street this morning Thursday 22 January 2026.
The collision took place around 7.30am.
The scene was cordoned off to facilitate an investigation and officers have now charged a man in connection with road traffic offences.
The woman was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Her condition has not been released.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.30am on Thursday, 22 January, 2026, we were called to a report of a woman struck by a car on Brougham Street, Edinburgh.
“She was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and a man has been charged in connection with road traffic offences.”
