It’s been a busy start to the year at Curl Edinburgh.

Some of the highlights so far in 2026 include:

In the Double Rink knock-out competition Oxenfoord defeated Haddington in the final with one draw and one win by 3 shots, to claim the Swan Trophy, for the fourth year in a row.

It was the perfect start to 2026 for Oxenfoord who, a few days earlier, celebrated their 150th anniversary with a bonspiel and dinner.

Another strictly social event hosted was the Past President’s Bonspiel for the Gogar Park club, now in its 47th year. Some eight teams took part.

There was a more competitive element to the Jackson Trophy featuring 12 teams comprising the winners and runners-up of various competitions played the previous season. After round one the team from Oatridge were clear leaders but they had a tough second game
against Currie and Balerno.

Meanwhile, team Davis came from behind with a big win over Haddington to emerge as the ultimate victors.

Women’s teams took to the ice to contest the Sellar Trophy which is effectively the ladies Open. After three rounds, the High and Low Road finals were played and team Gumley came out on top.

Finally some 62 teams from 30 clubs spent a day contesting the Midlothian Province Bonspiel. The trphy was eventually won by SIAE curling club.
