The first baby born on New Year’s Day at St John’s Hospital in Livingston was a baby boy named Hunter.
He was safely delivered at 26 minutes after midnight weighing 7lb 9oz.
His parents are Courtney Brown (31) and Graham Lindsey (43) from Broxburn – and they had, as you can see, already chosen his name.

At the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh the first baby was also a boy born at 2.45am called Charlie. He weighed in at 7lbs and his delighted parents said: “The midwives have been unbelievable, we have been so well looked after. This is a great start to the new year.
His parents are Alanah Gardner and Oli from Portobello
