- 10.00 am – 11.00 am Meeting of Planning Local Review Body (Panel 2) on 14/01 at 10.00 am – 11.00 am – Dean of Guild Court Room – City Chambers. There are several planning decisions on the agenda for review. One deals with the refusal handed down by The City of Edinburgh Council to a local firm of developers relating to 35 Station Road in Corstorphine. This was an application to change the use from a care home to 19 flats. One of the grounds for refusal is that the application would not contribute to a “sense of place”. The site already has planning permission for a care home – though this was granted in 2014 and has not yet been built. The application is for studio, one and two bedroom flats with car parking and landscaped grounds. The building is planned as a varied two and three storey structure. The Local Review Body already considered an appeal in November 2024 but “determined there was insufficient information to make a decision”. It has taken a year for the planning application to come back to the council for another look with the developer providing revised drawings here. The meeting will be held in person with a webcast available to watch live or after the meeting has finished.

Edinburgh Council may ask The Scottish Government to explore “more progressive” regimes for council tax, if councillors approve a draft response to a government consultation.
