A new Chief Executive Officer has been appointed at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh’s Science Centre and Planetarium.
Gwilym Gibbons will take up the role in May 2026. Anastasia Rocke has held the role on a temporary basis since July 2025.
Mr Gibbons is currently with the Crichton Trust where he has been CEO since 2018. This is a parkland estate near Dumfries where, under his leadership, there has been transformative change and fundraising of around £70 million for capital and revenue investment.
He was also involved in leading the £14 million construction project of the Mareel in Shetland and the £16.6 million project to restore and transform Perth Theatre.
His other interests include volunteering as a lifeboat crew member and Senior Helm. He holds several non-executive positions with organisations including Prosper Scotland, NHS Dumfries and Galloway and the National Independent Lifeboat Association.
He was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the University of the Highlands and Islands in 2014, is a fellow of the RSA, a Chartered Fellow of the CMI. and holds an MSc in Cultural Management and Policy.
