Justin Ducharme has had to watch from the stands as Fife Flyers have struggled through the first half of the season.

He impressed in training camp and played in the two exhibition games and one in the Challenge Cup and he felt good good before he was injured and he admitted: “It was a long three months – frustrating.”

Ducharme (pictured by Derek Young) went under the knife and then sent hours on a bike and in the gym as part of his rehab before making his comeback against Glasgow Clan last weekend.

The Canadian forward said: “It was hard on my knee going into back-to-back games.”

Ducharme now finds himself in a squad which includes three former National Hockey League players, Simon Despres and new signings Milan Lucic and David Booth.

Fife are next in action on Friday when they travel to Belfast Giants.
