On Tuesday morning there was a crash on Maybury Road involving two lorries and a bus, reported to police about 8.15am.
One truck carried the livery of Eden Farm and the other was carrying clothes for Cancer Research UK. The bus was rear-ended, and the photos show extensive damage to all vehicles involved.
The incident happened near a bus stop.
Earlier on Tuesday a Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Maybury Road in Edinburgh is currently closed in both directions following a crash which was reported around 8.15am on Tuesday, 2 December, 2025.
“Members of the public are asked to avoid the area at this time.”
A spokesperson for Lothian Buses said: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Maybury Road and are instead diverted via Glasgow Road, Drum Brae and Queensferry Road in both directions until further notice.”
The road was closed for a few hours while the vehicles were recovered.
A few hours after the crash Lothian Buses removed their service alert on the Number 32 bus.
There appeared to be no injuries with a bystander saying the driver of one truck was “lucky to walk away unscathed”.
Police Scotland later reported that Maybury Road in Edinburgh re-opened late in the afternoon.
“Emergency services attended and one person was taken to hospital for treatment.
“One driver has been charged in connection and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
