Police officers and staff paused yesterday Sunday 9 November 2025 to commemorate Remembrance Day at Leith Police Station.
A Special Constable from the North East Support Team played a piper’s lament following the two minute silence.
Inside Leith Police Station, a memorial commemorates officers lost in the First World War.
A Leith officer who recently visited the battlefields in Belgium was able to locate the headstone of Thomas Latto, who had served in the Leith Burgh Police.
Sadly, Thomas lost his life at the age of (23) in 1916 whilst serving in the Scots Guards.
He is remembered on the station memorial along with other colleagues who lost their lives.
