Fife Flyers’ disappointing start to the season continued when they were beaten 4-1 at Kirkcaldy by new Elite League leaders, Nottingham Panthers.
The Midlands outfit outshot Fife 36-17, but it took until the second session for them to click into gear.
They won the middle period 2-0 and the third 2-1 but Fife did peg them back to 2-1 when Keaton Jamieson scored 52 seconds into the final session.
Nearly 1,500 fans watched the action but Fife have now gone nine games into their league campaign and have gathered only one point. Panthers have 16 points from ten games.
Fife have another chance to earn their first league win of the season when they visit Coventry Blaze on Sunday night (face-off 17.30). Glasgow are at Guildford (face-off 18.00).
Meanwhile, Glasgow Clan have booked a spot in at least the elimination game in the Challenge Cup with a 4-2 victory at Dundee Stars.
Clan are temporarily on top of the four-strong Group B and will hope that Stars bounce back to beat Belfast Giants in Northern Ireland on Sunday night to stay there (face-off 17.00).
