On Fridays the council’s travel team issues its weekly list of roads in the capital where roadworks are planned.
The measures listed include parades and they may lead to road closures or diversions for traffic in Edinburgh. Drivers, pedestrians, wheelchair users and cyclists can expect some of these to cause disruption for the next week or so. There are also some posts about works taking place in January to be noted.
Some of the entries include these:
- On Eastfield Avenue on 1 December the road will be closed between midnight and 4am to allow for tram track maintenance.
- On 27 November until 28 November the inside lane will be closed citybound on London Road at Blenheim Place for cleaning ducts
- On 1 December Thistle Street will be closed at Hanover Street to allow for Scottish Power remedial works
- Waverley Bridge will be closed from 15 December until 28 December except for cycles
- The temporary thruway traffic lights at Belford Road will remain in place until 26 November for drainage and gully repairs
- There will be fourway traffic lights on Lasswade Road at Kirkgate to allow for BT works on 23 November.
- The temporary traffic lights on Lanark Road West will be removed by 24 November.
If you see anything on the roads which is not on the list then let the travel team know on Twitter @EdinTravel or otherwise you can check on the Scottish Roadworks register which is a comprehensive list of places to avoid.
