Amorist Restaurant in Dunfermline has unveiled its new Festive Menu serving seasonal local produce.

The three course festive menu costs £35 per head, with three starter courses, three main courses, and two desserts, or a cheeseboard. The meal selection will be served every day in December until Christmas Eve.

The food is complemented by what is believed to be the widest gin selection in Dunfermline, with more than 40 different types of gin behind the bar.

Owner, Nihat Oymak said that cocktails are a firm favourite, with the Biscoff Martini described as a “dessert in a glass”.

Head Chef Victoria Morrison who created the festive menu is cooking Mediterranean style food with a Scottish twist now that she has come to land at Amorist. She has an impressive CV which includes cooking for Her late Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, at the Palace of Holyrood.

Three courses

First courses include homemade Lentil Soup, smoked salmon with avocado cream and cucumber salad, or Parma Ham Crostini with roast figs.

Diners can choose from traditional roast turkey with all the trimmings, hot honey salmon fillet with herb couscous and yoghurt dressing, or a beetroot and butternut squash Wellington with sprouts and roast potatoes for main course

And Amorist offers Christmas Pudding with brandy custard, or a refreshing lemon tart with crème fraîche and berry coulis for dessert. Alternatively there is a selection of continental cheeses with crackers and chutney.

Nihat said: “We are delighted to release this festive menu, full of delicious favourites such as roast turkey and smoked salmon, but also offering dishes that are a little bit different, taking your taste buds on a culinary journey.

“Our three course menu is an affordable treat for the festive season, when people look forward to enjoying a meal with friends and family in relaxed surroundings.

“We have the city’s widest selection of gins, wines, spirits and cocktails here at Amorist, prepared by our experienced bar staff. With our beautiful new hotel upstairs soon to open, we are keen to boost our reputation as a Restaurant. In January we plan to launch our Amorist Afternoon Tea – something else to look forward to.”
