A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fire at a farm in East Lothian.
Emergency services were called to the scene in Dirleton shortly before 11am this morning.
Officers have now closed the A198 road at its junction with Main Road, Dirleton and motorists have been advised to avoid the area if possible.
Police say that their enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A198 is closed at its junction with Main Road, Dirleton, following a report of a fire at a farm which was reported around 10.50am on Thursday, 4 September, 2025.
“Emergency services are in attendance and diversions are in place although motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
“A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fire and enquiries are ongoing.”
POLICE UPDATE : “The A198 has re-opened at its junction with Main Road, Dirleton, following a report of a fire at a farm which was reported around 10.50am on Thursday, 4 September, 2025.
“No injuries were reported. Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
